CURTIN SCHOOL OF EDUCATION VOLUNTEERS

A number of Curtin School of Education Bachelor of Education (Secondary, with an English major) Pre service teachers have expressed interest in volunteering to work alongside a class teacher to support students with low literacy levels.

These pre service teachers are highly motivated and understand the centrality of in-school experience in preparing themselves for a career in education.

Curtin has formal procedures around volunteering and students do get recognition on their academic transcript if they complete a specified number of hours.

Metropolitan schools interested in having second or third year students working on a voluntary basis in the English/ literacy areas.
