ETA Senior Secondary Examinations

ETA Examinations have a long history of providing senior students with excellent op-portunities to demonstrate their course understandings and skills and to practise their examination technique. Prepared by experienced panels of classroom teachers, examiners and TEE markers, the examinations are premised on sensible interpretations of syllabuses./p>

In addition to the usual end of year examinations, for the first time, ETA will prepare a Year 12 English examination for schools to use for the end of semester examination.

This new paper will be dispatched to school by the beginning of week 4, term 2. It will be accompanied by detailed marking guidelines and be supported by an ETA marking seminar in week seven of term 2. Please use the order form in this edition of ETANotes to order this new paper and to signal your interest in attending the marking seminar.

For the end of year examinations ETA will again provide the following suite of examination papers:

• Stage 1 Year 11 English for students on a 1C 1D (2A 2B in 2009) pathway
• Stage 2 Year 11 English For students on a 2A 2B (3A 3B in 2009) pathway
• Year 11 Literature
• Year 12 English Course of Study
• Year 12 Literature

Papers are only sold to schools for use as examinations. Orders should be for either class sets or one per student plus one for the marker. Individual copies are not sold. Preview copies are not supplied.

Please note, to maintain security, papers are embargoed until the end of the Year 12 and Yr 11 2008 examination periods, which will be further delineated in the confidentiality agreements faxed to schools. Until the times nominated by the ETA, students must not have access to any ETA paper outside of their examination room.
