PROFESSOR BARBARA COMBER : The keynote speaker on Saturday morning is Professor Barbara Comber, who is Professor of Education and Acting Director of the Hawke Research Institute for Sustainable Societies. Professor Comber is a member of the National Curriculum Board English Advisory Group and will provide delegates with an overview of the implications of the national English curriculum for classroom practitioners.
MATT OTTLEY : On Sunday the keynote speaker is the winner of the 2008 Picture Book of the Year Award, Matt Ottley’s address explores the relationship between innovation and the acceptance of art and literature within society – drawing on the examples of art, music and literature from the past as well as from contemporary works.
ANDY GRIFFITHS : Our plenary speaker is Andy Griffiths, one of Australia’s funniest, most successful and versatile writers. He is the author of many books ranging from nonsense verse, short stories, comic novels, creative writing textbooks and a parent’s guide for creating a healthier lifestyle for their children.
WORKSHOPS : Three opportunities across the two days present you with plenty of choice Presentations will be made by local practitioners who will share their good ideas about teaching and teaching strategies work skills and much more.
