Membership of the English Teachers Association of WA is open to all members of the public; however our target audience is Secondary English teachers.

Membership of the ETAWA provides associate membership of our national association, the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE). Members of ETAWA will receive copies of the AATE journal English in Australia as well as discounted rates to AATE conferences.

ETAWA is the only association in WA that represents the needs and interests of WA Secondary English teachers. Members receive discounts to professional learning events and annual conference, as well as copies of our quarterly newsletter ETA Notes, our professional journal Interpretations, and other regular updates and information through our group email list. Aside from providing resources and professional development opportunities for teachers the ETA provides advocacy for members and is represented on many educational bodies and curriculum groups. All secondary English teachers in Western Australia should be members of the ETA in order for the association to continue to provide strong advocacy for members.
