Kelly Klymiuk

Kelly Klymiuk is the current Professional Development Officer for the ETAWA. In June she accepted a secondment from WestOne Services (DET) to take on the position previously filled by Karren Philp, who has been recalled to a school-based position in the DET.

Kelly has taught across the range of English subjects in high schools in both government and private systems, since 1990. She has been a Head of English in DET and Catholic schools and also a Team Leader for literacy learning across years K – 12. In 2004 Kelly was seconded to the Curriculum Council to work on the new senior secondary courses for English and in 2005 she won a public service position at WestOne Services, where she is a Curriculum Manager responsible for managing the development of learning resources for schools and the training sector.

Kelly is passionate about the practical application of learning theory to inform best practice teaching and she has a particular interest in developing students’ capacity as critical learners in a digital world. Her experience in teaching, curriculum and resource development will be put to good use at the ETAWA, where she hopes to build on the exemplary work done by her predecessor, Karren Philp.
